Unfortunately, most people suffer from the occasional bout of anxiety. No one is completely free from worry and fear. Besides, life seems to be moving faster than ever, and our world has some seriously scary $*@! sometimes. A certain level of anxiety is to be expected!
We are no exception. We have had many sleepless nights, asking ourselves questions such as; “Am I on the right path?” “Am I prepared for my presentation in the morning?” “Have I been a good partner/friend this week?” “Is that a freckle or a tumor?” The list goes on and on…
So, how do we cope during anxious times? Aside from excellent self care (proper nutrition, adequate sleep, daily exercise, minimal alcohol and caffeine), we find inspirational mantras to be extremely helpful.

1. I’ve dissected quite a few cadavers in my university’s lab. I’ve TA’d the class, and given tours/presentations to prospective students. I think one of the most surprising things to most people is the variation in bodies. You open Grey’s Anatomy and dozens of other textbooks about anatomy, it shows you the most typical body, and it may list some variations. Those variations are what can make it all interesting. I am not talking variation, like some people having the palmaris longus muscle, and others not. That’s generally pretty well known if you study human biology. Where it gets interesting is the extra muscles that are defined as no more than “anomalous” when you find them. You can look at dozens of books and tons of websites and might not find it documented anywhere.

Firstly, lets just say this isn’t reinventing the wheel. Intensity has always been a tool utilised by those willing to push themselves out of their comfort zone. Intensity itself can be varied many ways, less rest, more weight, more sets, more reps, slower tempo and so on. However, all these methods produce very different results and its sometimes easy to get lost in the information circulating gym floors and internet forums.
I’ll assume that most men who use the age-old 4 sets of 12 routine want to achieve muscular hypertrophy. However, what’s more important than the number of reps is the way they are completed. So we are off to a great start to the new year, right? We have our exercise routine going, eating right, wearing our fitness gadgets, and ready to take that new multi vitamin, until we look at the other ingredients. That happened to me. I just had to look, and low and behold, I thought I would check out what these things were on the internet. Here is what I found.
Cellulose Gel – is usually made from nontoxic wood pulp or cotton. It is used to thicken a product without adding any calories or fat. It is fibrous, which is why it appears in so many high-fiber “healthy” snacks.
Matodextrin – is an artificial sugar made from corn starch. Could cause an allergic reaction.
Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose – food additive for thickening and emulsifying liquids.

My old goal of joining the U.S. Military has changed. I unfortunately can not join due to medical reasons. A lot has changed last year and A new goal is set to finish college and still stay into fitness of course. I dont think I can ever let go of fitness. I will never go back to the old fat me again.
As for now I am working at a used car dealership, focusing on losing weight again, getting back into music and paying off an old school debt.
I find it pretty hard to lose weight right now. I think its because of all the surgeries and uterus being inflamed. I am going to get checked again soon because its pretty depressing how my body has stalled on weight loss.
So, to sum it up, Ive changed my old goal into something even better and will keep posting about it to share but to also keep me motivated! 🙂
